Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
BrainRotU is a worksheet-learning platform for young children. Accounts are created and managed by a parent, guardian, or teacher, who adds their children and receives printable practice worksheets personalized to each child. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
- Parent account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name and email address so you can sign in and manage your account.
- Information about your child that you provide. To personalize worksheets, we collect what you enter about each child: their first name, birth month and year (used to determine their age and grade level), and the interests you select. We ask for only what is needed to create their worksheets.
- Worksheet uploads. When you photograph and upload a completed worksheet for grading, we collect that image and the grading results we generate from it.
- Chat and assistant messages. If you use our chat assistant or chat-based onboarding, we collect the messages exchanged. Chat transcripts are retained for 90 days.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
- Usage information. We collect basic information about how the service is used, along with standard technical logs (for example, device and request data), to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- create and personalize worksheets for your child;
- grade uploaded worksheets and track learning progress;
- power the chat assistant and chat-based onboarding;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- process subscriptions and payments;
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service; and
- meet our legal obligations.
Service providers who process your information
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to deliver the service. Information you and your child provide is processed by them for that purpose:
- Google (Gemini API) — generates and grades worksheets and powers the chat assistant. Content you provide, including your child's first name and interests, uploaded worksheet photos, and chat messages, is sent to Google's Gemini API so it can produce and grade worksheets and respond in chat.
- Clerk — account authentication and sign-in.
- Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, storage, and infrastructure.
These providers process information on our behalf so that we can provide the service. We do not sell your or your child's personal information.
Children's privacy
BrainRotU is designed to be used by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts. Information about a child is provided by the adult who manages the account, and before onboarding we show a notice describing what we collect and why.
We use children's information only to provide the service — to create and grade their worksheets and track their progress. A parent or guardian can review or delete this information at any time by editing or deleting their account (see below). If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us at hello@brainrotu.com and we will address it.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Chat transcripts are retained for 90 days.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, your account and its associated learner information are deleted from our active systems. Some information may persist for a limited period in backups, or where retention is required by law, and is removed in the ordinary course.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
